Sinopsis de The Rising of the Shield Hero

Naofumi es un otaku solitario, con cero carisma y completamente ninguneado por sus compañeros, que un día se encuentra transportado a una tierra fantástica donde él es uno de los héroes elegidos... El Héroe del Escudo, ¡el arma más despreciada entre los roleros de ambos mundos! Este escudo es superversátil y cuando suma experiencia cambia de forma según las necesidades del portador, pero eso no quita que su casi nulo poder de ataque lo vuelva el hazmerreír del otro mundo. Es por ello que enseguida conocerá la traición, el desprecio y el más absoluto ostracismo, cuando la única guerrera dispuesta a luchar en su equipo lo acusa falsamente de acoso.

Tal como en su vida cotidiana, Naofumi se ve de repente sin un duro y ninguneado a más no poder, con la sola compañía de su escudo. Pero todo cambiará cuando consiga una nueva compañera en forma de chica-gato, Raphtalia, una esclava que compra y que, al ser tratada como un ser digno de respeto por primera vez en su vida, será su primera aliada verdadera. Después se sumará la angelical Filo, y con el equipo más desequilibrado del otro mundo, la aventura estará asegurada.
